By "3rd party", we mean any plugin not written by Azimer, Icepir8, or MiB64Team

MiB64 uses an open plugin specification. This means that other people are free to write compatible plugins, which you might like to use in MiB64 instead of the ones provided. These may be available standalone or taken from another emulator package - visit some quality websites or use a search engine.

You should first check that the plugin is to the MiB64 specification and to the correct version of the specification. We do not guarantee 3rd party plugins will work correct with MIB so consult the plugin or emulator documentation if you are not sure.

If you attempt to install a plugin that is not to a suitable specification then it should not show up in the menus in MiB64.

Extract the plugin (file ending .dll) and any support files it requires to the root of your MiB64 plugin folder (by default, "\Plugin\" subfolder of your MiB64 folder). Start MiB64, go to Options > Settings > Plugins and select the new plugin from the appropriate list and press OK. If the plugin initialises (starts) correctly there will be no error message. Remember, if you are using third party plugins the standard MiB64 compatibility lists and notes may no longer apply to you.

If you have problems with a plugin, please consult the appropriate author or group. The MiB64 team is not in any way responsible for the performance of 3rd party plugins! Nor can we  guarantee the performance of the application while using 3rd party plugins.
