Before you start to search for your own cheats codes, make sure that the Pause emulation when window is not active option is not active, by following the video below.

This will ensure that Live update on values when changed, will be working correctly.

Goto Options, Settings, Options, and make sure that the Pause emulation when window is not active check box is not enabled.
This way you can search as it is changing and not pause every time you click away from the main application.

Follow the above example for a Known Cheat Search. For this we are using Super Mario 64 Lives.
Just run to the water on game start, do a quick save once you are in the water, and follow the rest of the
example as shown above.

As you will also see, if the 8-bit search address does not have the effect in the result area, then +1 in Hex
and see if it gives the required effect.

For Lives 8033B21C +1 Hex = 8033B21D was correct.

Best practice is +1 Hex the original address first and if still not right then -1 Hex the original address.
If it still fails, then you 100% have the wrong address!

If you wish to save your result to the cheat database, just click the Save button. The result will then be
added to the file and removed from the cheat result testing area.

If you want to remove it from the testing area, click on the Remove button and it will removed from the cheat result testing area.
